Home Decor Hop Day 1

Goooooooooooooood Morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ning Blogging World!   I know it doesn’t have the “bang” that Robin Williams does when he exclaims Good Morning Vietnam does it…awwww well.  Welcome to the Home Decor Blog hop that I am hosting.  I hope you will enjoy all the amazing projects we’ve worked so hard to bring you.  Many participants have more than one project planned so be sure to check them out each day.  I will have at least three projects for you as well!

This is a hop like none others.  In it you will not find a card or a scrapbook layout.  Instead myself and 20+  favorite blogging friends have put together various home decor projects.  The idea for this hop came from having just moved into my own apartment recently and having lots of bare walls in my apartment.  I needed some ideas and figured it’d be fun to host a hop and so here we are.

Go grab yourself your favorite cuppa and sit down and relax, then pretend you’re a bunny and hop hop hop!  Oh yes, before I forget, many of the hop participants are offering their own personal blog candy prizes and the following “Grand Prize” items will also be given away:

Club Scrap drop spine box kit

Market Street Stamps Music Background Stamp

$10 gift certificate to SVG Cuts

$20 Michael’s Gift Card

Dish towels embellished with Vintage Fabrics

Scraps 2 Treasure Flower Assortment

Scrappy Scavenger Flower Assortment

I KNOW WOW RIGHT!!!!  Huge thanks to our sponsors!  You won’t want to miss Angelica’s project either…she has a necklace she’s giving away worth almost $100. WOO HOO!

Now…for day one this is what I have on deck for you:

Aren’t these little magnets adorable?  I purchased a 3 pack of mini clipboards from Craft Warehouse, added some scrap paper and adhered a magnet to the back.  Because they are magnets AND clipboards, they can hold twice as much important information.  You know things like love notes from my kids, report cards, recipes, shopping lists, etc!  They were so easy to make too…I just Mod Podged the clipboard, applied a piece of scrap paper, cut and sanded to fit exactly, inked and then sealed the edges finishing it up with the magnet on the back!
I have one more package of blank clipboards and can’t wait to make some more!

Next up (since the clipboards are such a simple project), is a name/inspiration hanging I made for my Scred Room.

I purchased a blank wooden plaque from Craft Warehouse that is about 5 or 6 inches square.  I added a piece of paper  (this one happens to be from the Butterfly Blossoms stack by DCWV) and then cut Faith using the font Jokerman and SCAL on my eCraft.  I really love how this turned out.  For my individual blog candy gift, I will be sending a winner a hanging just like this with the word of their choice.
Please be sure to check back tomorrow for another project and details on how to win the fabulous blog candy from our sponsors!

Next up along this hop is my good friend Krista.  Lemme just tell you about her…Krista and I “met” in the first hop I ever participated in and we really just clicked.  Her loving words she posts in comments on my blog and our many conversations outside the blog had earned her a very special place in my heart.  Often I get an email from her or a comment from her on my blog when I’m having a particularly difficult day and I am always amazed at how perfect her timing is.  Though we haven’t known each other long, let alone met in person, she has become someone I cherish…I even gave her her very own “touched my heart” award.  Krista, I am so honored to know you and elated to have you up next.  Please check out Krista’s Paper Cafe to see what she has for you…it’s “egg-straordinary!”

From now through Sunday you can visit any (and all) of the links below for some awesome home decor ideas.  I already know I’m going to scrap-lift several of them myself for my new apartment and hope you will enjoy them too!  In case you get lost along the way, the entire line-up is as below.  Don’t forget many people are featuring more than one project so check back each day.

  5. These mini clipboards are really cute! One side of my refrigerator is covered with magnets, mostly souvenir type given to me by friends who have traveled abroad and some that I just have because I like them. One of these would look adorable in my collection. TFS!
