“Violet you’re turning violet”

Actually, it’s purple and I’m not but Violet, but hey!  If you haven’t already checked out my original post for the Royal Purple Freedom Blog Hop I hosted, please click here to do so.  You could win incredible prizes…so incredible our hop participants are all green with envy actually!  More importantly though, you have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of women.  This hop has become bigger than I ever thought it would or could be.  I have received countless private messages on women who have survived unfathomable circumstances and messages from others who have now found the courage to leave.  This is more than I could have hoped for and far more than I expected.  I just wanted to make something pretty for some woman I could relate to and give some money to a place that helps women like me.  If you haven’t read my story, you can find it at the My DV Story tab on this page.

In choosing to have this hop, I thought I’d enlist the help of my crafty sisters and entice readers with a great prize to win.  Sponsor support has been so generous I can’t even begin to tell you.  In fact, I might need a whole new page just to list all the sponsors and pictures of everything they have contributed.  It’s amazing…it really is and I am grateful.

I am grateful to my Heavenly Father for providing the means for me to escape my violent marriage.  I am grateful to Him for being mindful of my needs throughout the last four years and I am grateful for the ways my faith has been tried, tested, proven and increased.  The ONLY thing that got me through my darkest hours was my faith in God.  I have found in crisis, some people run from God…I chose to run to and it’s made all the difference.   How ungrateful would I be if I didn’t now try to make a difference for someone else? I just hope the recipients will enjoy our card campaign as much as we have enjoyed making them.

This card was inspired by one I saw at Amazing Paper Grace called Yesterday.  I used Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares and Classic Squares Small. For the back fleur de lis square, I cut the largest one and then cut it in quarters and adhered the pieces to the largest square.  I really like how this card came out considering I was so “card blocked” after creating the tag the sentiment is on.  The sentiment is one I created with my TC Stamp Maker and is on a tag from Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two. I added a 5.25 by 4 mat of Core’dinations paper and adhered my nested fleur de lis squares with pop dots.  The ribbon used was purchased at Michael’s but you can get it at Wal Mart too.  Sentiment was inked with Versafine and stamped with a foam stamping cushion underneath.

I think this brings my total to 9 leaving me at least 15 more cards to reach my goal.  I will be back again with more purple cards soon!  Your purple card could result in this prize basket being sent to you:

You have until June 30th to get your card(s) made and in the mail and receive 1 extra entry for EACH dollar donation you include with your card.  Cards, donations, or both can be mailed to:

  1. Hi Faith,
Thank you for coming over to my blog– I have read your story and many of the others I’m not finished with them yet. It is a cause close to my heart , I see many women and children that become victims. It is sad but there is hope.
    hugs DIANA L

  2. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So georgeous!!!!!!! I love it, I never heard of Spellbinders, thank you.
Thank you for following me on my blog!!! You are my 30th follower! Also I added the decorative envelopes with the cards inside with the address on them , all ready to go! I posted it at the bottom of the Royal Blog Hop.. I edited it instead of creating a new post like I did with the second card. I really wanted to do more but I have been busy and ill on top of it.

Thanks you are such an inspiration
