In a few hours I’ll be heading out to attend a birthday party for one of my favorite little boys ever. I have it on pretty good authority that he is a huge lego fan and so I thought this lego card I first saw on Pinterest would be perfect. Here’s what I came up with:
The birthday sentiment is from My Creative Time’s “Wow So Many Candles” set. This card was really VERY easy to make. Here’s how you do it:Supplies Needed: A2 card base (mine is from Core’dinations) Standard 4 x 5.25 inch mat (mine is white cardstock from Wal-Mart) Scraps Ink to ink edges (I used Vintage Photo) Circle Punch (mine is a mini one from Fiskars) Wow So Many Candles Stamp Set Stamp Block Ink for stamping (I used Memento Tuxedo Black) Adhesive (I used thin foam dots and ATG)
First what you wanna do is lightly ink your background mat with whatever color you want. Next you want to cut your lego block shapes. For my card I cut a blue strip 2 inches by I believe 3.75 and inked the edges. Next I punched out 8 circles in the same blue color and inked them. I applied them to the strip using a very thing foam dot. For the yellow, orange, and red pieces they are an inch by 3.25 inches and I punched 3 matching circles for each block and inked all the edges. These measurements left me with the perfect amount of space to stamp my sentiment! Each “lego” was adhered to the card background layer using my ATG and then I affixed the background layer to the card base using my ATG as well. Start to finish for this card was roughly about 20 minutes (and that’s WITH distractions)!
